Thanksgiving… 
We give thanks for many things on this day. However we can be thankful everyday for everyday things.
As I opened my eyes this morning…
I thanked God for another day and another opportunity to walk with Him and let His light shine through me.
As I walked downstairs…
I thanked God for my legs that carried me and the home that surrounded me.
As I walked to the coffee pot…
I thanked God for coffee, the water to make it, the cup that was my mom’s and the memories I have.
As I sat on my sofa in the quiet…
I thanked God for the furniture in my home the throw rug under my feet and the heat in my home that sheltered me from the cold outside.
As I went to take my shower…
I thanked God for the warn water to wash with, the soaps to clean with and warm fresh smelling towels to wrap up in.
As I got dressed…
I thanked God for the clothes on my back, the shoes on my feet.
As I began to finish the preparations for our Thanksgiving Dinner…
I thanked God for the family soon to be there, the food that we all are pinching in with and the friends that will join us.
As I thought of those who wouldn’t be there…
I thanked God for what He was doing in their lives and prayed blessings for them, and I remembered my mom and dad who are with Him now.
As I walked outside in the cold and fog…
I thanked God for a beautiful day, the beauty of His creation and the eyes, ears and smell that I could take it all in.
As I sat quietly for one moment before my home was flooded with sounds of laughter and joy…
I thanked God, for being God, for being my God, for being our God. For Jesus and what He did for us. For The Holy Spirit that lives in me. I quieted my mind, shut my eyes and wrapped my arms around God…
And said Thank You…
I love You.
